Marta Gintere, a renowned designer, has recently unveiled her latest project - a packaging design proposal for the Latvian cosmetic company "Dzintars." The "Restoring" line of products focuses on skin renewal and utilizes the power of kombucha, a fermented black tea, as its main ingredient. Gintere's design aims to capture the essence of this unique component and create a visual language that resonates with consumers.
The packaging for the "Restoring" line is made from Kaskade design paper and Ivory board coated paper, covered with a Soft Touch laminate. The containers themselves are made from plastic rods that undergo various technical operations. Gintere has created 14 scale models, ranging from 15ml to 200ml, to showcase the versatility of the design.
One of the key features of Gintere's design is the element of surprise. As the consumer opens the packaging, the inner orange layer unfolds, revealing the product inside. This interaction creates a memorable and engaging experience for the buyer, setting the stage for a positive brand impression.
Gintere's design process involved extensive research and collaboration with "Dzintars" Ltd. Interviews with industry professionals and a consumer survey provided valuable insights into the perception of the brand and its products. The goal was to create a design that not only highlighted the main component of the product line but also resonated with consumers on an emotional level.
The visual language of the packaging design is inspired by the micro world of kombucha, with its intricate patterns and shapes. Gintere successfully translated these organic forms into a visually attractive language, creating a design that stands out in the competitive cosmetics market.
The "Restoring" packaging design project started in January 2014 and was completed in May 2014. Since its launch, the design has received accolades and recognition, including the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2015. This award is a testament to Gintere's creativity and ingenuity in incorporating art, science, design, and technology into her work.
Marta Gintere's innovative packaging design for the "Restoring" cosmetics line showcases her ability to create visually stunning and engaging designs. By capturing the essence of kombucha and translating it into a unique visual language, Gintere has created a design that not only attracts attention but also enhances the overall consumer experience.
